The Science Roadshow

Yesterday we had a visit from the Science Roadshow. The focus of the session was Sound Waves. Some of the main messages about Sound Waves were when a car is coming past and it honks its horn the whole time it’s coming past you and when it goes far enough the sound will go quieter because the sound wave stretches.

Something I enjoyed the most was the spinny chair. The spinny chair is a chair and you sit on the chair with some waits and they spin you around and you get dizzy because it goes so fast.My favorite part of the Science Roadshow was the explosions because they were fun looking at and really interesting.

Something I will take away from this visit was the mirror because you had to put your face in the mirror and your face would change.

Would you like to do this?

P.B.L play

The driving question for our PBL over Term 2 and part of this Term has been, “How can we as performing artists communicate positive messages to an audience?”We learnt about The Arts, in particular the elements of Dance, Drama and Music.

We read a number of fables or fairy tales and learnt about their positive message. We then took this learning and applied it to our own play writing script.

In my group there was Esther Harper and Monica and we planned out what our script, and fairy tale was going to be. Click here to see our planning document.

Once we had planned our ideas, we started to write our play writing script. The fairy tale or fable our script is based on is The three little bears and the dragon.

The positive message that we wanted the audience to take away was hard work and time pay off It means while the first two pigs quickly built homes and had more free time to play the last pig had more time to work on his house. Google Slide shows everyone’s performance in Tumu, my group’s performance is on slide 9.

Something that I enjoyed about this project was acting Something that I found challenging or would change about this project was laughing

I am most proud of this project because I worked hard on this play.

Have you ever done a play?

My Maths board h

This week we have been doing maths boards. We do maths boards every week and we have to pick a question. We pick questions to challenge our self so that we can get better at maths. Here is a photo of my maths board:

Have you ever done a maths board before?

Chloe’s Swimming Blog

Swimming Blog Post

We have just finished two weeks of swimming lessons at Graham Condon. The thing that I enjoyed the most this week was going on the boat because it was fun and I learnt what to do when you’re in trouble. This week, we did a lot of water safety skills. Something that I have learnt is when you’re in trouble you get in a huddle and the sick people go in the middle and this is important because if you are actually in trouble you need to do that. Something that I want to learn next time I have swimming lessons at school is breaststroke because I don’t know how to do breaststroke.

Have you ever been in a boat?

The Resilience Project Planning Document for PBL

During our writing lesson, we got to start thinking about the Resilience Project and what we know to do in order to teach our parents about GEM. We answered different questions using full sentences and recorded them on our planning document. Here is the link to my planning document. This will help us to create our project. I will upload my project next term when I have finished.

Do you know anything about the Resilience Project?
